A touch pad is a device on your laptop which is sensitive to the touch of your fingers on it. The Touchpad mimic’s the use of a mouse. How to Deactivate TouchPad On Windows Laptop?

In Windows 10 deactivating the Touchpad is very Simple. Although you need to make sure that you have an external mouse connected otherwise once you deactivate the touchpad you will not be able to use it again. Click on the Windows icon on the keyboard and type in Device Manager

In other versions of the Windows Operating System. You can go into the Management devices directly which is inside the Control panel. You can enter into the control panel by clicking on the windows icon and typing in the control panel.

Once you have the device manager window open in front of you, you will need to enter the mouse and other pointing device options by double-clicking on it.

Once you enter you will find the touchpad option, on which you will need to right click and in the pop-up menu you need to disable the device.

The same steps follow if you want to reactivate the touchpad for your laptop again.

If you are on Windows 10 you can disable the touchpad from going to Settings>Devices> Touchpad.

To the right side, you will find the additional settings inside that window you will find the hardware option and click on properties

Go to the Driver Tab after which you will need to press the Disable Device and Press OK to Confirm.

How to Disable Touchpad on a Mac

If you want to disable the Touchpad on your Mac, you will need to click on the Apple Symbol in the top left corner after which you need to click on system preferences and this way you will enter the settings of your Map.

From the System Preferences click on Accessibility and then Check the box that says ” Ignore the integrated trackpad when the mouse or wireless trackpad is present” to disable the trackpad. Uncheck to activate the trackpad on Mac.
